Tom Corbett: Kitchen Manager/Chef

Tom Corbett was born and raised in Vermont, and currently lives in Williamstown, where he is the Food Service Manager and Head Chef at Williamstown High School. Tom has been cooking for over 40 years. He was the head chef at The State House in Montpelier, banquet chef at The Barre Country Club, and ran numerous other kitchens, as well as his own catering company. But it was when he first spent time as a chef at a summer camp that he was able to combine his love of food and children. Since then he has filled his summers spending time with kids and making sure their meals are as good as the rest of their summer. Tom’s kitchen is always the place to be if you want to laugh!

When he isn’t in a kitchen or reading recipes Tom loves to get outside and hike the beautiful trails of Vermont, either on his own or with his grandchildren. Spending time with his family is his favorite thing to do, no matter what they are doing. But if the weather isn’t cooperating and he has some time to himself, then he’s relaxing watching a good Hallmark Channel movie…especially the Christmas ones!

Sarah Griswold

Sarah Griswold, Assistant Kitchen Manager/Chef

Sarah was born and raised on a sheep farm in rural Connecticut and has been in Goshen since December 2015.  Sarah works as the Food Service Director at Shoreham Elementary School where she strives to bring a Farm to School model to the students and teachers, encouraging them to try new things and partnering with local farms. 

Sarah has a various background ranging from Executive Management in Cosmetics, an Innkeeper, and a buyer at Kripalu Center for yoga and Health, all the while having her hand in food service and cooking. 

When not at school, Sarah loves to be home working at Happenstance Farm, which she shares with her partner, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 7 ducks, 14 chickens and continuously growing vegetable, herb and flower gardens.

Sarah is excited to be a part of Camp Thorpe, working with her community and everyone at camp!

Hayden Gallo

Hayden Gallo, Kitchen Staff

Hayden just completed his junior year of high school in Vermont. This is his second year at Camp Thorpe and he is happy to be a part of this great organization. Hayden plays varsity lacrosse and is beginning to explore college options for next year. He is looking forward to another fun summer!

Karolina Szymkowiak, Kitchen Staff

Karolina Szymkowiak is from Poland. She studies landscape architecture because she loves contact with nature. She is an open happy person and loves contact with people. Karolina is very excited to be coming to Camp Thorpe and the US this summer!
Patrycja Hiking

Patrycja Suchecka: Kitchen Assistant

Patrycja is from a small village in Warsaw, Poland where she lives near her parents and grandparents. She is currently studying Technology of Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology and loves to spend hours in the laboratory. When she is not studying or working, she loves to bicycle, and often mountain bikes or rides long distances.

She is most excited to come to the US to work at Camp Thorpe with people from the US and different countries. She says, “I hope that my presence there will bring a lot of happiness and joy to others.”
